Casper
Casper is our only non-portable computer. We use it for backing up our laptops, serving this website and, whenever I get around to setting it up, serving as our e-mail server. Casper is so named because if its really cool transparent case.
MythTV
Now that we're getting tired of the crappy PVR that the cable company has provided, we've decided to make Casper into a PVR (Personal Video Recorder), aka: a Tivo-clone.
software
Casper runs a fairly normal Debin GNU/Linux setup using the "sarge" (technically, "testing") distribution. This includes Apache2, Exim4 and courier-imap. It also has a few packages from unstable, namely openswan.
